I recently returned from a trip to New York City, purely a pleasure trip, which I enjoyed immensely. While there, I couldn't help but become encompassed by the fast pace and excitement of the New York life....it had been 13 years since I visited New York, and I found it quite changed from my last visit. The city was vibrant and moving, day and night with both New Yorkers and many, many tourists from America and overseas.
You would never guess that the economy was in a slump by the looks of it; with each shop, restaurant and venue overflowing with people. Reservations were needed at most restaurants, the Empire State Building was a 2 hour + wait, and my family missed a boat tour due to it's being "over capacity".
Being from Michigan, where everything seems all "doom and gloom" these days, it was a great pick me up for me and my family. It made us aware that there is more going on in this great country than that which we see every day. I came back with a renewed vigor for my trade, which gave me great incentive to review my business plan in the coming months.
Whichever your choice of city, be it New York, LA, New Orleans, Boston, etc....I suggest you take some time to yourself over the next few weeks and revive your mind....think big.....and stay positive!
