Here we are officially a month into 2010 and the figures are coming in.....positive figures. We have heard the news that Ford Motor Company posted a profit, unemployment is slightly down and staffing companies have seen a 4% increase in revenues. I like to think of myself as a positive person, so I point out these occurances to tell myself and others in the the group that our economy, and our industry, is observing positive trends in 2010!
Now, I realize there are skeptics out there who will provide at least one negative for each positive news item we find. For example, while Ford Motor Company is turning a profit, they are pretty much the only major automotive firm to do so. While unemployment figures have dropped, so have people whose benefits ran out. And for those staffing firms enjoying revenues, many have closed their doors in the last few months.
While I can't argue these points, I choose to pick the positive news. It is my belief that as American's, we are fighters, doers and achievers. Although we can accept the bad, we BELIEVE in the good, and will continue to strive for the best possible results in our corporate and personal lives. When we are knocked down, we bounce back up; when we fail, we try again! The American spirit is unwavering, and the good news helps to bolster us up and gives us hope for the future!
